Festivals, Fairs, Special Events & the Rockhound Gemboree!

Every year is a busy one when it comes to special events and festivals in North Hastings.  Some of the popular ones include:

Bancroft is home to the annual Bancroft Rockhound Gemboree on the Civic Holiday Weekend, now in its 51st  where thousands flock to town to see mineral exhibits from around the world and to experience the fun of rockhounding first hand.  Visit www.bancroftdistrict.com for current year details.

Don't forget to stop by Millennium Park in Bancroft for the annual Bancroft Arts & Craft Guild's Summer Show on the Civic Holiday Weekend.  This long running event has showcased all the talented artists and craftsmen that dot the North Hastings landscape.

Bancroft comes alive in early July to kick off the high season with its Wheels, Water & Wings!  Picture main street closed to traffic on the Friday evening, a huge vintage car display, live bands, food vendors and so much more.  Saturday features  events on the York River.   Sunday is the annual Fly-in Pancake Breakfast at the Jack Brown Airport in Bancroft, complete with scenic tours over beautiful North Hastings!  Check out www.beautifulbancroft.ca for details.  Visit www.bancroftcommunitytransit.com for details on the annual York River Paddle Challenge.

It wouldn't be August without the Coe Hill Fair!  This long running event has attracted visitors for more than one hundred years.  For more information visit www.township.wollaston.on.ca

Maynooth Madness on Labour Day Weekend transforms Maynooth into a major attraction.  Madness features a mega farmers' market, Highland Heavy Games and everyone's favourite, the Mud Dawg events!  Visit www.maynooth.on.ca/maynooth-madness for more details.

The annual Bancroft Studio Tour happens on two weekends at the end of September.  It is a great opportunity to visit unique studios throughout the region and to do some pre-Christmas shopping for unique gifts.  Visit www.bancroftstudiotour.org for details.
